Welcome
one and all to the CCT Academy! We have had such a wonderful year so far and
have so much more to look forward to in the coming months.
I’m so excited about some of the opportunities we have coming up
for your children this Winter and Spring Quarters! In addition to our
regular classes please keep in mind our Winter Play-in-a-Day classes that
will be running during the holidays for ages 6–8 and 8–11.
We are offering many of our most popular classes as well as
some new ones that we hope will soon become favorites.
Let Down Your Hair with Rapunzel,
Jack and the Beanstalk (for ages 5–7) and
Adventures with Robin Hood (for ages 8–11)
classes will be held in conjunction with our mainstage shows: Rapunzel,
Jack and the Beanstalk, and The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood.
This is a fun way to introduce your children to theatre. Have them take the
class and then call the CCT Box office (614-224-6672) for tickets to see the
show!
And for the 12–16 year olds, keep in mind our class,
Acting 101: An Introduction. This new class will focus on the basics of
stage acting including stage direction, terminology, auditioning skills, and
how a production comes to fruition.
If your children love making friends and have a flair
for the dramatic, then the CCT Academy is the place for them. Please take
advantage of our wonderful programs and classes and know that our main goal
is to encourage your child to explore his or her individual talent while
promoting teamwork and building self-confidence. Space is limited, so be
sure to register quickly!

discuss the audition process and the difference between prepared
auditions and cold readings. Join us on Share Day as our young actors
take to the stage for the first time!

Advanced Acting
For those students who have
completed our Beginning and Intermediate Acting classes, this is what
you’ve been working up to. This class will challenge you as an actor,
focusing on monologues and scenework as well as stage presence. You will
also look at improvisation as an important aspect of the theatre and a
tool that every actor should have in his/her arsenal.

Loud and Clear
Even if you’re not a singer,
you still need to work on your voice. This class will focus on improving
young actor’s volume, range, articulation, and vocal expression. It is a

fun-filled, comedic world of The Somewhat True Tales of Robin Hood, and
then join us at the Park Street Theatre to watch it performed live,

crazy characters, there is sure to be one just for you.

The Actor’s Craft Series; Dialect Workshop
One of the most important keys
to being a professional actor is versatility, and mastering dialects is
one of those tools that it is beneficial and fun to have! Advanced
students will enjoy studying and working with a variety of accents and
regional dialects. We will explore the sounds, rhythms and intonation
patterns of these accents while working with text. A great class for the
young film, TV, and stage actors.
